ESG is a gated module. It only appears in the sidebar when your organisation has the feature enabled and you hold the emissions permission. If you don’t see ESG Overview and Reference Data under the ESG group, contact your administrator.
The ESG module helps you track greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 (location and market), and Scope 3. You record activity data against reporting periods, calculate emissions using factor sets, review data quality, and generate disclosure-ready reports.

Overview dashboard

The ESG Overview page (/esg) opens with a dashboard of KPI cards:
  • Total Emissions — combined emissions for the latest active period, in tCO2-e
  • Active Periods — count of reporting periods currently open
  • Sites — number of sites available for emissions reporting
  • Open Review Items — outstanding data-quality issues awaiting attention
When emissions data exists, an Emissions by Scope pie chart and emissions-trend and target-progress charts appear below the cards. Beneath the dashboard, tabs let you browse the underlying records. Use the + button to create a new record for the active tab.
TabDescription
Reporting PeriodsThe periods you report emissions against
Activity DataRaw activity records (fuel, electricity, and so on) by scope and category
TargetsEmission-reduction targets with base and target values
DisclosuresDisclosure content organised by section and reporting period
Scope 3 ScreeningA read-only screening view for Scope 3 categories

Reporting periods

Open a reporting period from the Reporting Periods tab to manage its full lifecycle. The detail page has Overview, Calculations, Activity Data, Review Items, and Audit Trail tabs, plus header actions.
1

Create a reporting period

Set its name, date range, and applicable frameworks.
2

Add activity data

Enter records manually, or use Import Scope 2 from Invoices to populate Scope 2 activity automatically from your invoices.
3

Calculate emissions

Run Calculate Emissions to queue a calculation that applies emission factors to your activity data.
4

Check for gaps and review

Run Run Gap Detection to flag missing data, then resolve items on the Review Items tab.
5

Lock the period

Use Lock Period to freeze the data once reporting is final. Calculation and import actions are disabled while a period is locked; Unlock Period reopens it.
Use Generate ESG Report to produce a report for the period. The Audit Trail tab records changes for traceability.

Facilities

A facility detail page (reached from emissions records) presents the facility’s emissions context across Overview, Activity Records, Calculations, and Equipment tabs. Use it to see the activity recorded for a site, the resulting calculations, and the equipment that contributes to its emissions.

Reference data

The Reference Data page (/esg/reference-data) holds the shared definitions your calculations draw on. Use the + button to add a record to the active tab.
TabDescription
Factor SetsNamed sets of emission factors, with source, reporting year, and effective dates
Emission FactorsIndividual factors by scope, category, and region
EquipmentEquipment definitions including type, fuel type, and refrigerant type
InstrumentsEnvironmental instruments (for example certificates) with quantities and vintage year
Intensity MetricsIntensity denominators used to normalise emissions
